Parenting is one of the most important jobs in the world! The decisions you make today will affect the life of your child forever. Our trained staff can assist you in your efforts to build a healthy, happy and successful family. We offer a wide array of services to include parenting classes, home visitation, a lending library, playgroups and any other co-parenting, single parenting or related topics.

Office Visits:
All services provided are also available at our office located in Building 600 or Elmendorf Hospital. We provide customized educational programs for families and small groups on a wide variety of parenting topics. Textbooks, workbooks, VHS videos, and CDs/DVDs are also available for checkout and self-paced learning.
NSPS Play Groups
All Play groups except for Polar Cubs are held in Bldg 337, the School Age Services Bldg (corner of 5th St and Hoonah). For more information, call 580-5858.
Cubs & Little Cubs Playgroup
Meet other parents and enjoy a fun time with your child or children from infants up to school age. Pooh's meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am. Fine motor activities and gross motor activities are offered. Parents are encouraged to play with their children and interact with other families at the playgroup. During the summer months we will be planning some outside activities.
Craft Time
Meets Thursday’s from 10-11:30 am. Tigger time primarily focuses on fine motor skill activities such as arts and crafts. Come and enjoy time with your child or children from infants up to school age and meet other parents.
Polar Cubs
Introduce your child (6 months up to school age) to water play and preparation for swimming. You and your baby will have a wet and wild good time while developing motor skills and strength for swimming. Aqua Play is held each Tuesday 10-11:30 am at Buckner Physical Fitness Center Pool on Fort Richardson.
