Requirement for a USARTRAK RAP (Recreation access permit) to recreate on Fort Richardson.

If you plan on boating, fishing, hunting, off road recreational vehicles, berry picking etc etc on Fort Richardson property you must obtain a RAP at the front gate visitor's center. The permit is free and good for 2 years. For more info please contact the front gate at 384-0296.

Otter Lake is a National Wildlife and Loon Sanctuary.

The Otter Lake Boat Rec and Snack Bar is located next to Otter Lake. Boat equipment is available, or bring your own boat or canoe and enjoy late night or early morning fishing.

The Otter Lake Park has day use areas with BBQ grills, picnic tables, a playground, baseball field, volleyball net & horseshoe pit.

The cabins sleep 4 people and are equipped with one double bed w/mattress and one set of bunk beds with mattress, and an outside port-a-potti and grill.  You need to bring your water, food, sleeping bags and linens.   

Six Log Lakeside Cabins

Active & Retired Military E6 & below - $50 per night
E7-06 - $55 per night
DOD civilians - $70 per night

The cabins (14X20) sleep 6 (two double beds and 2 single beds) with heat, electric, refrigerator, and an outside port-a-potty, grill and picnic table.  No plumbing (bring food, water and bedding).

Picnic Pavilions

Available for day/evening parties & other social functions.
Mil/Ret - $50 per day
DOD Civilians - $75 per day
Civilians - $150 per day

Reservations for cabins, picnic pavilions, and rentals for, volleyball and horseshoe equipment must be made at the Outdoor Recreation Center.
