Snow Machine Lessons & Guided Snow Machine Tours available beginning in November by appointment only. Outdoor Recreation Center, Bldg 794, 11 am - 1 pm and 5-7 pm. $50 per person. Bring your own lunch and riding gear. Must be age 16 or older to operate snow machines. Sign-up 1 week prior to tour. Sign-up & pay at the Outdoor Rec Center. Open to active duty & retired military, DOD/NAF & Family members. Snow machines are available to rent.

Thanksgiving Snow Machine Rental Special - November 26 - December 1 at the Outdoor Recreation Center. Rent a snow machine Nov 26 (after 2 pm), return machine Dec 1 (before noon). "Only pay for 2 days". Call 384-1475.

Alyeska Ski Trip - November 28. Cost $60 per person (incls: ski rental, lift ticket, transportation, and beginning ski instruction). All authorized users must sign up and pay 7 weeks prior to trip. Limited to 28 people max, 6 min. Under the age of 18 not chaperoned, must have parent permission slip and a hold harmless waiver at time of sign up. Patrons must be at Dyea Ski Rental, Bldg 470, Dyea Ave, 8:30 am, for ski equipment issue. Depart Dyea Ski Rental to Alyeska. Return to Dyea Ski Rental, 5 pm. Watch for Dyea Ski Center Grand Re-Opening in November

Dyea Ski Center has a snack bar, video games, great sledding hill, beginning ski hill, and groomed cross country ski trails. Seasonal rental packages are available at ODR beginning October 10, Bldg 794, call 384-1475. Now is the time to rent your seasonal down hill and cross country ski packages. Daily rentals include down hill & cross country skis, snow boards, skate skis, ice skates, inner tubes for sledding, snowshoes and ice augers. Down hill, cross country, and snow board lessons available by appointment beginning November. $40 pp 2 hour lesson (incls rentals). Unit trips to Hatcher Pass and Alyeska available. Dyea Ski Rental will be closed Thanksgiving Day November 27.

Angel Tree - Nov 28 - Dec at the Joint Military Mall BX/PX.  Taking gifts from the tree and delivering them to the Chapel and replacing angles on the tree.  This community project is for less fortunate families on post.

Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony - Dec 2, Arctic Chill, 6 pm.  Come be acknowledged by your BOSS council for all your hard work and time. 

Lock-in - Dec 13, Warrior Zone, 9:30 pm - 3 am.  Enjoy 5-1/2 hours of gaming, movie watching, playing pool and more.  Pizza and drinks will be available.  While there if you leave you will not be able to return.

Richardson, while still being readily accessible to those families currently enrolled in CYS programs. Open Monday thru Friday 7:30 am - 5 pm. Registration is FREE of charge, call 384-7483. 

Preschool & School Age Services (SAS) Programs
Part Day Program (PDP), Bldg 337, offers a variety of early childhood education programs for children of preschool age. Preschool options include Toddler Time for 2-year olds and a variety of 3-hour, 5-hour and 9-hour classes for 3-5-year olds, and a 9 hour program for infants 4 weeks to 2 years old. Before and After School Kindergarten programming is also available. For info about space availability, call the CRO 384-7483.

PDP Toddler Time (children ages 2 years) - Classes. Monday & Wednesday (5 hour program), 9 am - 2 pm, Tuesday & Thursday (3 hour program), 9 am - noon. Fees based on Total Family Income (TFI). Call Central Registration 384-7483.

School Age Services (SAS) Before & After School Care (1st-6th grade). SAS is located in Bldg 337, 384-1068. Program operates Monday - Friday. Before School 6-9 am (includes breakfast at 7:30 am). After School 3:30-5:30 pm (includes a snack). Parents have the option of enrolling in the Before or After School or both Before and After School Program. Fees are based on Total Family Income (TFI). SAS Limited Child Care Closure - Nov 10, (Military Training Holiday). The programs will provide limited child care 7-9 am, (Before School) & 3:30-5 pm, (After School) for those active duty military sponsors, or spouses with deployed sponsors who have duty/TDY/deployed. SAS hours: 7 am - 5 pm (requests for care must be turned in to the SAS front desk prior to Nov 4).

SAS Saturday Open Recreations November, Bldg 337, open 10 am - 4pm. All children attending must be CYS Services registered and in 1-6th grade. We do not serve any meals, parent’s need to provide a sack lunch and a snack for their children. For more info, call 384-1068. Closed Nov 8 & 29.

USDA Food Program
FRA Child & Youth Services is pleased to announce it’s participation in the USDA Summer Food Program for School Aged Children thru Aug 19 at School Age Services Bldg 337. Any school age child can receive breakfast and/or lunch free of charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Breakfast will be served 7:45-8:45 am and lunch 11:45 am-1:30 pm. Meals will be made available to all children but with Sponsor restrictions or limits for reasons of security, safety, or control. Located in the former JFK Elementary School, Dyea St. Open to all military families (all branches of service) and authorized users. (during this time, no lap lanes avail).

Eligibility for Limited Open Swim & Open Swim: age 14 or older. Children must be at least 10 years and have passed a pool test to be in the water by themselves. The parent must still remain in the Bldg until the child is 14 years old. Pool swim tests are administered only during lap swim. Prior arrangements must be made.

Contact the office for a pool schedule and for more info on pool reservations, closures, lap swim, hot tub, and kiddy pool.

The Warrior Zone is located on Richardson Drive in Bldg 655.

The worlds northern most 36 hole golf course!

The Moose Run Golf Course has two 18 hole golf courses consisting of two par 72 courses, the Creek Course and the Hill Course, a driving range, two chipping range, two practice putting greens, a practice sand trap, golf shop and snack bar. The Creek Course is the longest golf course in the state of Alaska at 7,324 yards, and the longest single golf hole at 640 yards. Play cards are available in addition to daily greens fees.

Hours for Golf Courses, Daily: 6 am - 10 pm. The Driving Range & Snack Bar opens 1/2 hour earlier then the Golf Course.  For info, call 428-0056.
